We love seeing our folding beds in amazing locations, especially somewhere as remote and beautiful as Greenland. Our friends at Lotus Belle Nordic recently helped set up a new wilderness glamping camp, kitted out with their signature tents and our Jay-Be Grand Pocket GP80 Folding Beds.
The new campsite, called Isua Camp, sits at the very end of a long fjord named Grædefjorden. It’s an off-grid, all-inclusive retreat for fly fishers looking for untouched waters and Arctic char, guided by local pros. The area is completely isolated, with no signal, no roads, and no other people – just the occasional curious reindeer.
The young and ambitious team behind it, Raw Arctic, also offer nature tours and cruises. You can find out more at rawarctic.com or on their Instagram.
Jonas from Lotus Belle Nordic supplied the tents and beds and joined the team to help set everything up. They were a team of six, sleeping in the camp for four nights while setting up the tents and outdoor kitchen. Everyone said they slept really well. Even the heaviest guy in the group had no issues, and the soft mattress got lots of compliments. We all felt rested each morning.
"Transporting gear to the site was a challenge. Everything had to come by boat for four hours, so the beds’ compact size really helped. The folding beds took up about half the space and weight of box mattresses. Choosing them probably saved us an extra boat trip."
Jonas commented that it pleasantly surprised him that on uneven, rocky ground, the beds performed incredibly well.
"We laid carpets inside the tents and the bed legs settled nicely. No wobbling or instability at all."
A big thank you to Jonas and the team for sharing their story and images – truly inspiring.
