World Environment Day: Supporting United Nations Sustainable Development Goals

Sustainability is a key part of our Feel Good, Sleep Well philosophy. We aim to create products that are not only better for sleep but also designed with sustainability in mind. To celebrate World Environment Day organised by the United Nations, we’re proud to highlight how our efforts align with four of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production
We’re proud to be an FSC®-certified manufacturer, using only responsibly sourced wood to help protect biodiversity. Through our use of Better Cotton™, we also support ethical cotton farming. And, by replacing foam with our e-Fibre™ comfort layers – made from recycled polyester – over 200 million plastic bottles have been recycled so far.

SDG 13 – Climate Action
All Jay-Be operations are powered by 100% certified renewable energy, and we’re committed to clear, science-based progress through the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). As an active member of the NBF Circular Economy Committee, we also help drive positive change across the wider bed industry.

SDG 14 – Life Below Water
Our development of 100% foam-free mattresses and use of Advance e-Fibre™ fillings have contributed to the use of material derived from recycled plastic bottles – helping to reduce the amount of plastic waste that could otherwise end up in the ocean. We continue to build sustainability into every design by incorporating more recycled materials.

SDG 15 – Life on Land
Closer to home, we’re proud to support the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust in their local conservation efforts. We’ve also introduced ethical pest control technology and advanced warehouse robotics – aimed at reducing land use and minimising environmental impact. We’re proud of the steps we’ve taken so far, but we’re always looking for new ways to do better. Every choice we make is part of our ongoing effort to have a positive impact on people and the planet.
